My New Hobby

I have recently taken up a new hobby. My girlfriend, Janelle, started talking about her savings at the grocery store and recently gave a talk on how she does it at our Moms Club Meeting. I was very intrigued by all this as she has a family of 4, with one monster eater who is 1.5, for less than $75/week, INCLUDING diapers! I was fascinated by this and decided to get on the band wagon. Thus, my new hobby is couponing and I have FINALLY mastered it! As seen with today's pic, I didn't buy a lot of food since I am only feeding 3/4 of my family, but did stock up on some really great buys and I don't have to buy anything else for probably at least 2 weeks (other than milk next week). I spent $60.81 and saved $113.94! Just for a small run down, here is what I purchased:

2 diapers
5 wipes
4 chicken
1 london broil
20 baby food jars
plums
2 bandaid
2 neosporin
4 popcorn
6 ziploc gallon bags
4 deodrant
4 Diet Coke
1 bathroom tissue for $.01

Getting BIG!

Just wanted to update my blog with some recent pics of my cutie patutie kids! They are getting SO BIG! Hannah will be 3 in just a short month and a half. She is very excited about this and can't wait. Our newest accomplishment here has been that we are potty trained! It only took about a week and have them "both" mastered. She is very proud of herself and we have called both sets of grandparents to let them know. We even have some pics of her next to her potty - we will hold those back though.

As for Ansley, she is 3 months old and smiling and cooing at everyone! She is a small delight all wrapped up! Now, if she would just get on the napping bandwagon, that would be great. On the other hand, she does sleep 12+ hours through the night, so which would I rather have - definitely sleeping through the night!

Hannah's First Big Girl Bike

Well, I am sure you are all wondering why two posts in one week - well, I have to show you! Hannah is so excited about her bike! She rides it very well, and truly, she outgrew her tricycle, so an early birthday present it was. She loves it!

Well, as you can see Hannah and Ansley are growing like weeds! Hannah is very much in to her Barbies and her favorite thing to do is have them exercise! I am sure you have looked at the pics and are wondering why the barbies are naked?? Well, Hannah will tell you it is because they will get their clothes dirty and then she will have to wash them and she doesn't want to, so they exercise naked. She plays like this for at least an hour a day - usually when you are wondering where she is because it is so quiet.

Ansley is growing up so fast right before our eyes! At her 2 month check up, she was 11 lb 3 oz and 22 inches long. She loves her big sister and giggles and coos at her constantly. Recently, Ansley had a friend over, Leilah, who is 5 days older than her. Ansley is a great baby and slowly but surely getting on a schedule.

Melany - you know who you are and this one is devoted to you!

Here is our newest addition - Ansley Rachel Levy born February 23, 2009. She weighed 6lb 14oz and 19.5 inches long. She was 3 weeks early and considered a preemie, but to me, she was as big as she needed to be. She is a great eater, sleeper and pooper - in that order! We can't wait to introduce her to everyone.

Lenny's Graduation

As most of you know by now, Lenny was elected to be the speaker at his graduation. It was beautiful. He was very funny, cynical and serious all at the same time. Here is a pic that was captured there - I thought it was great. Hannah slept through the entire ceremony, which was wonderful so I could capture the moment. North GA State Fair

While Lenny has ventured off to China for school, Hannah and I went with our friends Miss Heather, Mr. Blake and their two kids, Lauren and Lincoln to the North GA State Fair. Hannah and Lauren had a blast. They giggled and talked all about what they were seeing as well as what they wanted to ride next. The wouldn't live in the moment. I tried giving Hannah cotton candy, but she wouldn't have anything to do with it. Sometimes I do wonder if she really is mine (who doesn't like cotton candy?). Here are some pics from our adventure.

Thomas the Train 2nd Birthday

Hannah had a Thomas the Train 2nd birthday and had a blast!! She was so excited that Thomas came and visited her. Her eyes about bugged out of her head! She rode the train non-stop until it was time for a juice break as it was so hot that morning. She has about 20 of her friends from play group, school and the neighborhood over and then fell with a 3.5 hour nap! She got a lot of great gifts, the best one being from her cousins Sammy & Max who gave her lots of dress up dresses and better yet, the jewelry. We wear it everywhere and this particular day was dressed up as snow white!

It's Been too Long - The Big Girl Bed Final Chapter

Well, it's been a LONG while since I have posted about our Banana, so I thought I would start where I ended, the bed. She got her big girl bed on July 4th weekend and we had a taking down the crib party for her. She had a blast helping daddy take it down, as well as putting up her new one. She thinks her new bed is her princess throne, and yells in the morning "mommy/daddy, I am all done sleeping in my big girl bed." This lasted about a week and a half...now she just comes in to our room and gets us by asking for cartoons.

New Milestones - the BED

We have reached a new time in our lives with our little Banana, the bed. We have now officially not slept in our crib in 5 days and haven't looked back! She has been sleeping on a trundle bed, although I haven't "popped it up" to full position for her, so it has been on the floor. She loves it! She calls out after nap time or in the morning and says, "Mommy, I am all done sleeping in my big girl bed!" It is too cute. Here are some pics of her first nap in it. She was a champ! She went to sleep, slept for 2 hours for me, and then called for me to get her.

She is going to be getting her own big girl bed this weekend. We already have the rails from Grammi & Pop Pop, so that will be the true test...in our own, full size, big girl bed in our OWN ROOM! Miracles do happen!

Like Mother, Like Daughter

Well, we are into dressing alike these days. Grammy bought her a dress that matches her doll, correctly named Baby, and we love to dress alike! We schlep Baby everywhere we go, dressed alike or not. Oh, and don't forget the bottle, because that comes as well. We have small heart failure when we don't have Baby with us, so we make sure not to leave home without it! It's our new American Express Card...I wish she would pay our bill though!

Well, I am sure you must be wondering by now what Hannah & I do for fun while Lenny is at Duke...we do a lot: goto the pool, play inside and our favorite now, play in the PINK MUSTANG. Yes, it is true, we have become rednecks and our fun for last night was to watch the kids ride in the Mustang up and down the street!

Cooking in the Kitchen

Hannah and I had our first cooking experience earlier this week. We made brownies together and I am not sure who liked it more, me watching her or her eating the batter. She loved it, especially when she realized what she was eating!!
